Trine professor speaks at IACTE

Angola, IN (03/12/2020) — A professor from Trine University's Franks School of Education (FSOE) gave a presentation at an annual event sponsored by the Indiana Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (IACTE).

The IACTE Summit ran from Nov. 7-8 at Butler University in Indianapolis. IACTE invited members to submit proposals to speak at the conference, and Tolin's proposal a session titled re)Designing eLearning for ALL Learners, was accepted. Tolin's session focused on how educators can implement Universal Design for Learning in classrooms with and without technological assistance with special focus tips and tricks to help educators design content that is accessible for all learners.

"Focusing on UDL and accessibility when designing content provides learners with exceptionalities with what they need to be successful while also providing an extra benefit to all learners."

The summit, focusing on innovations, initiatives and best practices in teacher education, was a great opportunity for Tolin and FSOE.

"It was great exposure for the FSOE at the state level!" she said.
