Austin Crouse performs in fall concert for Trine jazz ensembles

Trine University's jazz ensembles, under the direction of Prof. Brian Derek, adjunct music faculty, will present their fall concert beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, in the Ryan Concert Hall of the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts.

Austin Crouse of Pendleton will be among the students performing with the ensembles.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The Jazz Combo will perform "Blue Bossa" by Kenny Dorham, "Autumn Leaves" by Johnny Mercer, "Chameleon" by Herbie Hancock, "My Favorite Things" by Richard Rodgers, "Yesterday" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and "The Chicken" by Pee Wee Ellis.

The Big Band will perform "Blues Brothers Revue," arranged by Roger Holmes; "St. Louis Blues" by W.C. Handy, arranged by John Denton; "Chameleon" by Herbie Hancock, arranged by Michael Sweeney; "On Green Dolphin Street" by Bronislau Kaper, arranged by Frank Mantooth; "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix, arranged by Roger Holmes; "500 Miles High" by Chick Corea, arranged by Mark Taylor; "Earth, Wind and Fire Dance Mix," arranged by Paula Murtha; "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" by Robert Lamm, arranged by Mark Taylor; "Moondance" by Van Morrison, arranged by John Berry; "Take Five" by Paul Desmond, arranged by Dave Wolpe; "What Is Hip?" by Steven Kupka, Emilio Castillo and David Garibaldi, arranged by Paul Murtha; and "Birdland" by Josef Zawinul, arranged by John Higgins.
