Elyse Buehrer takes part in Trine show

Trine University's Musical Theatre and Opera Ensemble Scenes Program will present selections from several popular musicals and operas at 3 p.m. April 10 in the T. Furth Center for the Performing Arts, 500 W. Maumee St., Angola.

The program is free and open to the public.

The presentation will feature semi-staged selections from favorite shows like "The Sound of Music," "Into the Woods," "Spamalot," "Candide," "La Traviata," "Lakme" and "The Tales of Hoffman."

Ensemble members are:

  • August Buehrer, a junior music major from Angola, Indiana;
  • Elyse Buehrer, a senior music major from Angola, Indiana;
  • Alexandria Burke, a freshman criminal justice and psychology major from Granger, Indiana;
  • Joshua Marty, a senior chemical engineering major from Clyde, Ohio;
  • Megan Miller, a sophomore professional writing and English studies major from Angola, Indiana; and
  • Joseph Robinson, a senior chemical engineering major from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Each student will be featured in the program. The ensemble is directed by Ashlee Bickley and accompanied by Laura Dallman - both are adjunct music instructors at Trine.
