Haines takes part in Trine hooding ceremony

Ashley Haines participated in the Trine University Graduate School hooding ceremony on Aug. 19.

The ceremony, held in the Fabiani Theatre, recognizes the completion of the graduate degree. Haines earned a Master of Science, Criminal Justice degree.

The colorful hood is reserved for those individuals who have attained academic degrees beyond the bachelor's degree. Universities observe the hood as a differentiator that symbolizes scholarship and professional achievements. The hood is lined with the official colors of the university or college conferring the degree. Hoods are edged and bound with valvet in the color appropriate for the field of study of the degree.
