Trine crowns 2017 Homecoming royalty

The 2017 Trine University Homecoming king and queen were crowned Friday, Sept. 15, at a Homecoming pep rally and recognized at the Homecoming football game on Saturday, Sept. 16.

Serena (Yuhan) Zhang, a junior from Roswell, Georgia, majoring in electrical engineering, was crowned Homecoming queen. She Is involved in Gamma Phi Epsilon, Trine High Voltage Dancers, the Multicultural Student Organization, Society of Women Engineers, Phi Eta Sigma and Study Abroad. She hopes to work in international trade.

Adam Miller, a senior from Fort Wayne majoring in elementary education, was crowned Homecoming king. He is involved in residence life, Trine ambassadors and Sigma Phi Epsilon. He plans to become an elementary school teacher.

Students with junior or senior academic standing were eligible to be nominated by other students, faculty or staff members. All nominees who met requirements were added to a ballot, which was sent in an online survey for voting. The top five male and top five female nominees following the popular vote made up the homecoming court and the top male and female were crowned king and queen.
