'A United Kingdom' Showing Thursday at Trine University

Angola, IN (11/13/2017) — Trine University's Overlooked Film Festival will end this Thursday, Nov. 16, with the film "A United Kingdom."

The Overlooked Film Festival gives members of Trine's local community the opportunity to watch free films that were not released locally or that were generally "overlooked" at the time of their release. All films will be shown at 7 p.m. at the Fabiani Theater in the Rick L. and Vicki L. James University Center.

Concessions will be sold outside of the theater prior to the showing by sisters of Phi Sigma sorority. Fabiani has a maximum capacity of 320 guests, so it's recommended that attendees with specific seating preferences arrive early.

Rated PG-13, "A United Kingdom" follows the true story of the lives of Seretse Khama, the King of Botswana, and Ruth Williams, a London office worker during the 1940s. In this film, the proposed marriage of Khama and Williams is faced with challenges from both their families and the British and South African governments. Their continued romance brought about the possibility of civil unrest in his home as the British government disputed a biracial couple ruling over a neighboring country.
