Community invited to mental health walk at Trine
ANGOLA, Ind. (09/17/2026) — Steuben County community members are invited to join Trine University students and alumni and local businesses for Breaking the Silence Together, the university's inaugural mental health walk, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.
Dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and well-being, the event will provide opportunities to learn about the importance of mental health, connect with local resources and support services and engage in meaningful conversations about reducing stigma and fostering a healthier community.
Participants will check in at the MTI Center, where food trucks will be available.
Speakers for the event will be Ryan Sheets, manager of wellness strategy and Client Services for Cameron Health; Denise Stump, alumni relations committee chair on Trine University's Alumni Association Board of Directors; and Jonah Kyle, a Trine University student majoring in computer science and information technology.
The event will conclude with a 1.5-mile community mental health walk, featuring do-it-yourself activities and celebrating the importance of self-care, resilience and making mental wellness a priority every day.
