Go 'globetrotting' at Trine University's 51st International Night

ANGOLA (03/13/2019) — Sights, sounds and tastes from around the world will be on display as Trine University celebrates its 51st annual International Night on Saturday, April 13.

This year's event, themed "Trine Globetrotters," will begin at 5 p.m. in the Rick L. and Vicki L. James University Center. All festivities are free and open to the public.

International Night opens with a bazaar held in the University Center Mall. Stations including cultural music, food, exhibits and various activities will showcase some 30 different countries represented at Trine. Activities will include caricatures, jewelry making, henna art, and booths where participants can take selfies while making their very own human postcards.

Visitors will be given a map in order to collect a sticker from each station. Those who collect all the stickers will be entered into a drawing for two prizes at the end of the evening.

Mocktails will be served in the mall during the event.

At 7 p.m., attendees are invited to enjoy traditional and modern performances by students in the University Center's Fabiani Theatre, including music, Bollywood dance, K-pop, poetry and a trivia/talk show hosted by students from Saudi Arabia.

International Night enables students, faculty and staff from other nations to share their cultures with the Trine campus and local community. The event also provides an opportunity for all to experience and celebrate Trine's growing international population and embrace its members as part of the community.
