Hockey association offering free event for girls to try hockey
ANGOLA (10/02/2017) — The Thunder Hockey Association is offering a free event for girls ages 4-adult who would like to try hockey.
"Girls Try Hockey for Free" will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, in the Thunder Ice Arena on the Trine University campus.
Skates, helmets and sticks will be provided at no charge.
Activities will include Learn to Skate, Learn to Play Hockey, yoga class, nutrition class, a goal setting for your season/positive mindset class, and time on the ice. Members of the Trine University women's NCAA Division III hockey team and girls youth teams from South Bend will assist with activities.
The event is being held in partnership with the International Ice Hockey Federation's World Girls Ice Hockey Weekend and USA Hockey. Trine University is one of two host sites in Indiana for the event.
