More than 700 to march in Trine commencement Saturday
ANGOLA - (05/08/2017) — More than 700 will take part in Trine University commencement ceremonies Saturday, making it the largest commencement in Trine history. The class also includes the first graduates from the university's Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
The ceremony, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Inc. Athletic & Recreation Center (ARC), will feature United States Sen. Todd Young of Indiana, who will serve as commencement speaker. Young will receive an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree from the university during the ceremony.
The 704 Trine students receiving degrees on Saturday are part of the largest graduating class - 999 students - in the university's history.
"Setting a record once again for the size of our graduating class not only reflects the overall growth in Trine University enrollment, but the commitment we have to helping our students finish their degrees," said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine University president. "We are excited for these new alumni of Trine University and wish them the best as they go on to careers or graduate study."
