Philharmonic returns to perform Holiday Pops at the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts

ANGOLA, Ind. (12/09/2024) — The Fort Wayne Philharmonic will return to the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts this Saturday, Dec. 14, as part of its Holiday Pops on Tour.

The Philharmonic will perform in the Ryan Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening one hour prior. Tickets are $15 and are available at trine.edu/furthtickets or by calling 260.665.4990.

Special thanks to The James Foundation for sponsoring this event.

Conducted by the Philharmonic's Youth Education and Family Concert Conductor, Troy Webdell, these much-anticipated concerts feature a great mix of traditional and popular holiday music such as Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Rudoloph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, 0 Holy Night, as well as the always popular Christmas Carol Sing-Along.

"There is something for everyone to enjoy! I feel like Santa Claus during our Holiday Pops runout concert season, delivering a wide variety of cherished holiday music to be unwrapped by the ears of the communities we visit!" said Webdell.

Webdell's full biography can be found at https://fwphil.org/about-the-phil/artistic-leadership/troy-webdell.

Singer Ian Williams joins the Philharmonic to bring these Christmas classics to life. Williams is a professional singing actor in the South Bend area and the owner of the Ian Michael Vocal Studio. He has performed several concerts in Northern Indiana including Handel's "Messiah" and the Mozart "Requiem," with Heartland Sings, Inc. and the Steuben County Festival Choir, as well as several educational and family performances with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.

Ian was a finalist in the 2022 and 2023 Lotte Lenya Competition, and was a 2024 recipient of the "Lotte Lenya Competition Songbook Award." He is also the co-founder of the Fort Wayne and South Bend chapters of Opera on Tap, a non-profit based out of New York City.
