Trine Business Office honored for purchase card process

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (10/02/2019) — Trine University's Business Office received a Best Practices Award from the Central Association of College and University Business Officers (CACUBO) during the organization's annual meeting Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Best Practices Program awards $1,000 to first place entries in each of three categories: research/comprehensive/doctoral institutions, small institutions and community colleges.

Trine University was recognized among small institutions for its purchase card receipt capture and approval process using VISA's Spend Management mobile app. The process, implemented over the summer of 2018, allows employees with purchase cards to photograph and upload receipts, and link them to transactions. It also allows transactions to be approved via the mobile app.

CACUBO's Best Practices Program showcases the best of college and university business officers' efforts to create better, more efficient, customer-friendly business practices.

CACUBO is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization that specializes in professional development in higher education to advance the missions of academic institutions. Since 1909, CACUBO has worked to improve business and financial management in higher education, and to promote the profession's ethics and standards.
