Trine launching Ph.D. in entrepreneurial leadership

ANGOLA (04/26/2018) — Trine University has received approval from the Higher Learning Commission to launch its new Ph.D. in entrepreneurial leadership program, and will begin enrolling students this fall.

The Ph.D. in entrepreneurial leadership is Trine's second doctoral degree program. Director Ken Rauch, Ph.D., said the program meets a need in the corporate world.

"Practitioners in professional leadership roles are underrepresented among Ph.D.s, due to the difficult balance of professional obligations and duties with the traditional residency requirements of doctoral-level study," said Rauch. "Through this program, executives can earn the credentials they need to teach, advance within the corporate realm or explore new career opportunities, while still maintaining professional commitments and a personal life."

"The Ph.D. in entrepreneurial leadership continues Trine University's tradition of meeting real needs through innovative programs, offering the same convenience, value and personal attention as our undergraduate and master's programs," said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine University president.

The first classes will be offered Aug. 20, with enrollment opportunities available at the beginning of each eight-week session. Trine's program does not restrict students to cohorts, allowing them to complete the doctoral degree at their own pace.

Offered online, Trine University's Ph.D. in entrepreneurial leadership lets students work independently, with faculty readily available as constructive guides and partners throughout the process.

Students will visit the Trine University main campus and Fort Wayne Education Center, convenient to Fort Wayne International Airport, once each academic year for the Leadership Academy, featuring programming related to the curricula and other program elements, as well as the opportunity to meet with faculty and peers.

Trine's first doctoral degree, the university's successful Doctor of Physical Therapy program, was accredited and graduated its first class in 2017.
