Trine surges in USNWR Best Value rankings
ANGOLA (09/10/2018) — Trine University is increasingly being recognized as a best value among colleges and universities, according to the 2019 US News & World Report Best College rankings.
Trine is 19th in Best Value Schools among Midwestern Regional Colleges in the 2019 rankings, released Sept. 10. The university was 34th in the 2018 rankings, the first year Trine was listed among Best Value schools.
"With more than 99 percent of graduates employed or beginning an advanced degree within six months of commencement, a growing number of people are recognizing the value of a Trine University education," said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine president. "This ranking is a testament to the dedication of our caring, expert faculty, our financial aid staff who work tirelessly to provide the best scholarship packages for our students, and our career services staff who work to give Trine students the preparation and connections they need for a successful career."
"While we are always pleased to be recognized as a Best Value, we hope to improve as we continue to develop and expand our academic programs, and seek support for additional student scholarships through the Invest in Excellence campaign."
Trine also ranked third among Midwestern Regional Colleges in the best colleges for veterans category and was in the top third for its freshman retention rate of 74 percent, placing 19th out of 60 colleges.
The university maintained its U.S. News & World Report composite score from 2018, based on peer assessment, graduate and freshman retention rates, graduation rate performance, social mobility, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving rate. As a result, Trine ranked 24th overall among Midwestern Regional Colleges.
Trine also was ranked among Midwestern Regional Colleges for least debt upon graduation, overall graduation rate and classes under 20 students.
