Trine University students and faculty once again participated in NASA's International Space Apps Challenge, held this year on Oct. 7 and 8.

Alexis Maloney was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week early in the season. It was the first time Maloney took home the award and the first time one of the Thunder won it this season. Maloney helped lead the way for the team as they opened their season with a convincing 7-2 victory over visiting Earlham College. Maloney, along with doubles partner Elina Locane, started the day with a lopsided 8-1 victory in the No. 1 doubles match. She then became one of four Thunder to finish the day undefeated sweeping her opponent in the No. 3 singles match.

A Trine University mechanical engineering major received top honors at an Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) event for an idea he presented to launch an entrepreneurial club at the university.

Since high school, Trine University student James Kellerstrass has wanted to study abroad, and Japan was the place he wanted to go. Kellerstrass, a mechanical engineering major from Berrien Springs, Michigan, and president of the Study Abroad Club, got the opportunity to do just that this summer, studying in the country from May 10 to July 15.

Khoa Weston, an electrical engineering major at Trine University, completed an REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) at the University of Michigan over the summer. The experience focused on learning how to make, study and improve advanced semiconductors.

Three members of the Trine University men's golf team were honored for their efforts on the course and in the classroom this past season in senior Charlie Eriksen, junior Mark Civanich and sophomore Kyler Rod.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) has announced the 2022-23 postseason academic awards. The Trine University men's volleyball team received 13 All-Academic Team honors, the most in the conference. The requirements are at least a 3.3 grade-point average and the earning of a varsity letter.

Trine University students were named to the President's List for the Summer 2023 term. To earn President's List honors, students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.750-4.000.

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced the recipients of the 2022-23 MIAA Academic Honor Roll. In total, 273 individual student-athletes at Trine University were recognized by the MIAA on the 2022-23 Academic Honor Roll, the most of any league schools. Student-athletes must reach a 3.5 grade-point average for the academic year and earn a varsity letter in an MIAA-sponsored sport to be eligible.

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced their honorees for the 2023 Division III Academic Honor Roll as well as the 2023 Academic Honor Squads.

The United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has unveiled their team and individual academic awards for the 2022-23 indoor track and field season as well as the 2023 outdoor track and field season.

At the 2023 Honors Day Ceremony, Trine University recognized the top male and female student athletes of the senior class. Keysean Amison of the football team received the Robert L. Greim Award for Top Male Student-Athlete and Ellie Trine of the softball team was tabbed the Cheryl L. Coons Award recipient as Top Female Student-Athlete.

The Academic All-District teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), have been announced for the remainder of the 2022-23 athletic seasons. Trine University had 26 student-athletes represent the institution on their respective All-District teams.

Six members of Trine University's softball team were named to the NCAA Division III All-Tournament Team after Trine won the 2023 NCAA Division III Softball Championship on June 7.

Senior pitcher Anna Koeppl of the Trine University softball team has been selected as a member of the 2023 College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America First Team. She becomes the first Trine softball student-athlete to be named Academic All-American since 2020.

A pair of Trine University softball student athletes were recognized as All-Americans by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), the association announced Wednesday, May 31 at the NCAA Division III Championship banquet at the Bear Creek Smokehouse in Marshall, Texas. Freshman Debbie Hill earned first team honors while senior Anna Koeppl appeared on the second team.
