A pair of Trine University football student athletes have received All-Region honors from D3football.com. Junior Kyle Naif (Riverview, Mich. / Riverview) was named to the second team defense as a linebacker while senior Ryan Hibbets (Monticello, Ind. / Twin Lakes) was named to third team defense as a place kicker.

Trine University students have been honored for projects presented at the university's fifth annual STEM Research and Design Symposium, held Dec. 3 on the concourse of the MTI Center.

Trine University men's soccer student-athlete Tyler Murphy [Greenfield, Ind. / Greenfield Central] was named First Team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) over the weekend. It is the second time that Murphy has been selected to the All-MIAA team after being a Second Team recipient in 2020.

Haldeman finished 14th with a career-best time of 23:13.6. Haldeman and Brittain, who placed 15th at 23:14.2, were members of the Second Team All-Conference. It is the sophomore Haldeman's first time being named All-Conference and Brittain now becomes a two-time All-MIAA titleholder.

Teresa Ashbrook [Dewitt, Mich. / Dewitt] was selected as a First Team All-MIAA selection. Sophie Aschemeier [Findlay, Ohio / Liberty-Benton] and Olivia Butterworth [Murray, Ky. / Murray] were each mentioned as Second Team All-MIAA recipients.

Two teams including Trine University students competed in NASA's International Space Apps Challenge Oct. 2-3, with one team advancing to additional rounds of judging. Space Apps is held annually at locations around the world, inviting members of the public from diverse backgrounds to work together to solve important challenges related to NASA's mission. Teams this year could choose from 28 challenges.

Four Trine University biomedical engineering students attended the annual meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) from Oct. 6-9 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Florida, with three presenting research.
