Since 2017, teams including members from Trine University's Engineers Without Borders (EWB) chapter have assessed the water needs of a remote Ecuadorian village and surveyed the area for additional sources. In March, work began on improvements to the village's water system.

From Oct. 18-20, five Trine students traveled to the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio, for the NASA International Space Apps annual "hackathon." According to NASA, the event includes 29,000 participants at 225 events in 71 countries. Trine students, along with other participants, had two days to develop and present solutions to various challenges assigned to them at the event.

Several students have been honored for projects presented at Trine University's third annual STEM Research and Design Symposium, held Dec. 6 on the concourse of the MTI Center.
