Swick volunteers in Malawi
Kaitlyn Swick, a senior elementary education major from Tekonsha, Michigan, was part of a group that traveled to Malawi, Africa, for two weeks in July to work a community of orphans through With Change In Mind.

Trine student assists in nanomolecule research
Many college students make big plans for the summer, but Trine University student Shayna Burrage's experience involved something very tiny. Burrage, a chemistry major from Auburn, participated in a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) for 10 weeks at the University of Mississippi. While there, she worked on a project synthesizing Au38(SPh)24 nanomolecules.

When Christie Hasbrouck BSME 2016 came to Trine University, she was fascinated by airplanes. While at Trine, she discovered a passion for metallurgy and materials engineering. Now, as a graduate research assistant, she gets to combine both.

Hasbrouck receives Tau Beta Pi graduate fellowship
Christie Hasbrouck (BSME 2016) received a Tau Beta Pi Graduate Fellowship to continue her education beyond her bachelor's degree. A total of 24 fellows were selected from 497 applicants to the engineering honor society. All Tau Beta Pi Fellowships are awarded on the competitive criteria of high scholarship, campus leadership and service, and promise of future contributions to the engineering profession.

Members of the ENG 233 Mythology class released an eBook of work. Titled Tales from Mythology Spring 2016, the book is a collection of student-created myths from class. Students were assigned the project of creating their own myth, with encouragement to explain something about Trine's campus in the process.
